What sets us apart from the rest?

Few places in the UK are able to compete with the beauty of Cornwall with its dramatic coastline, spectacular beaches and cool summer vibe. What really sets Fresh Tracks apart is not only the quality and relevance of our teaching, but the amazing location from which we run our Off to Uni (Life Skills) courses.

Polzeath is “the” place to be in the summer, even attracting some big celebrity names over the years. From its pristine beach and rolling waves, to the atmospheric night life and spectacular sunsets, Polzeath has become one of the top holiday destinations in the UK. It also has a strong link to the food and hospitality sector attracting celebrity chefs to open up restaurants or live near by (you may see Gordon Ramsey out for a surf, Rick Stein taking a cold water dip or Paul Ainsworth out on his bike!)

Wow, looks amazing but where will I actually stay?

The properties we use in Polzeath are based in the Highcliffe Estate and offer great accommodation including:

  • stylish and functional kitchens,

  • open-plan living rooms and outdoor spaces to relax in,

  • comfy bedrooms (students can select whether to have a private room or shared occupancy)

  • full bedding and towels,

  • modern bathrooms with all the required facilities (bathrooms are usually shared between 2-4 students)

Close to the many amenities, we are only short walk from the beach and from the local pub The Oystercatcher.  With plenty of space and great facilities, the cottages give you the room to practice your cooking skills and to socialise together and also come with use of the new, well equipped gym and on site tennis courts.

What can i do in my spare time?

Our course is designed so that you'll have some time off each day to explore the local area. This will vary depending on which meals you are cooking on what days, but will always include a couple of hours each day, plus a half day-off on the Wednesday afternoon.

From mountain biking and coasteering to Sealife safaris, there is a huge amount to see and do in our area of North Cornwall. We have Polzeath Beach and the South West Coast Path on our doorstep if you're keen to explore, and the beautiful town of Polzeath just a 5 minute walk down the road.

Isn’t Cornwall the home of surfing? Will I be able to learn?

There are also plenty of surf schools and hire shops in Polzeath, so if you're keen to get out in the waves we can help you to arrange a surf or a paddle boarding lesson, including board and wetsuit hire. Many students use Wavehunters who are right there beachside, ready to kit you out with high quality wetsuits, boards and more. They also offer lessons for all abilities with 1-1 private or group lessons all bookable online.

How Do I Get there?

If you're thinking of driving, we have plenty of on site parking, for you to use. If you will be using public transport to make your journey to us, the closest airport is Newquay Airport and the nearest train station is Bodmin Parkway. We can arrange to pick you up and drop you off at either of these locations.
